YSK: Changes without penalties in case of delay
You should know that LATAM allows changes in your booking if your flight is delayed more than 30 minutes or is scheduled 15 minutes earlier than your original scheduled
Even if your fare doesn’t allow refunds or changes you can opt to the following:
1. Change to another flight (-7 to +15 days) if there is availability in the cabin (not necessarily your fare bucket) You can change the departure, the return or both
2. If the date is outside of that window or you want to change the route, the ticket is used as a form of payment for a new one. There is no penalty, only the fare difference if applicable
3. Request a refund without penalties
You can call them and you can ask for either of those. more details here https://www.latamtrade.com/en_us/procom/pax_protection
I booked a non refundable flight to LAX a couple of months ago. This weekend I realized I didn’t want to go and reluctantly I made my luggage.
Today I received a mail with the schedule change and used that ticket as a FOP to a flight to MAD for next year, I only had to pay the fare difference
