No SCL-IPC flights next Nov. and Dec., really ?

Both on Matrix and the LATAM web site, no flights between SCL and IPC are programmed between Oct. 30th and Jan. 1st (LATAM does indeed show flights on and after Jan. 2nd). Does anyone know why ? It seems unthinkable to me that the island would not be serviced from Santiago for two straight months.

See this thread. Post 1 explains the "why", other posts get into some of the specific ramifications::

The flights are loaded, but 0'd out for inventory. Ironically, they'll still sell you a PPT/IPC on certain days.

This seemed as good a place as any to say, i love your airline! I flew in SCL - IPC Saturday. The first class is so much more comfortable than United's seats, wider and roomier. The Food was better, and the FA's had truly great attitudes. It was very refreshing for someone stuck on American carriers to enjoy that level of service.

I can also speak to the 787 issues. our flight back Tuesday has been delayed several times in the last two weeks. Originally scheduled for 12:15, then 14:30, then 15:30, last night moved to 17:40. I do not mind as it allows me to add another activity in the morning. Also, i cannot download now, but because I am a flyertalker, I was on top of the crater (by the airport), taking some amazing pictures, and had a clear view of the runway as the 787 landed. I snapped twice as many of a plane landing than I did of the amazing scenery.

anyone know why LA is 0'ing out all inventory? in case they have to cancel or make route adjustments? have a trip planned in november and still need to book a few more people but i'm worried what would happen if LA doesn't re-open inventory

Inventory showing again for Nov/Dec. I don't know your flight dates, but you can check to see if the new inventory works

It's seems like Nov is only bookable via foreign point of sales (more expensive) and not on the Chilean version of the website. Been watching it everyday and hoping it'll open up!

I was only able to book my flights last year about 60 days out. For domestic only sales, and on these routes in particular, the time changes LATAM makes were probably so notorious that they just now wait to let you book until closer. I assume what happened last year will again this year. Hope it’s true.
