BOS-GRU launching S18

Schedules and equipment TBA. But as a BOS-based flyer and avid fan of visiting South America, I see this as a huge win!

Where do the Brazilians live?
I think Boston is ahead because it has a large expat Brazilian population.
That said, Latam have to look at flying from Brazil direct to somewhere other than the East coast eventually!
It won't be DFW because they won't want to upset AA. LAX is an option but again it's an existing AA route, so GRU-ORD must be somewhere in their thinking...

The Brazilian community in the BOS area is larger than either the Chilean or Peruvian communities here, explaining why LA/JJ chose to launch a BOS-GRU nonstop instead of a BOS-LIM or BOS-SCL. LIM and SCL are both served at least once a day from JFK, which is a quick hop away. Yes, it is still a connection, but LA likely does not see the demand for a nonstop.

Oh, yes. I was cheering for a LIM-ORD or a SCL-ORD, not a BOS. I agree, Boston makes sence for the Brazilian market but not Peruvian or Chilean. I don't know if ORD would make sense for either the Brazilian, Chilean or Peruvian, but it makes sense commercially, as it is a major hub for AA and UA, with an interesting international conenctivity (DUB, AUH, etc.). People in the midwest usually have to fly to the east coast or DFW, MIA, ATL or IAH to get to lower south America, instead this would make things easier.
I am not sure about if it is financialy sound from a cargo point of view...

What can I say... SCL ORD please! But with AA serving DFW I don't really see a point - nothing in the midwest is too far away from DFW.
When UA started flying IAH SCL (and not ORD SCL) I lost all hope. I guess it's not all lost?
