compare suites
Stopping in LV for a couple of nts each way to/from HI. Lots of really great hotels deals. Which would you pick 1 br tower suite luxor or celebrity suite MGM grand, and 1 br tower suite luxor or Monaco suite Monte Carlo. All are about the same price. Thanks

With your options I would choose either MGM or Luxor with leaning more towards Luxor. However, if you want a better casino experience along with the room MGM would be my choice. Monte Carlo's Monaco suite is nothing to write home about IMO. If you're just looking for a suite without a jacuzzi then consider Venetian/Palazzo. May be similar in price and better location on the Strip. Enjoy your stay.

yes, which was my reasoning for leaning towards Luxor. But Luxor itself is a bit tired hence my comment on going with MGM (or even Venetian) if you want something besides the room itself.

, after the recent (over the past year) re-model of most of the casino floor and interior spaces. Awesome (non-Egyptian) vibe now.

.........I got a free concierge level upgrade with my previous COMP stay.... now, I'm totally spoiled.......
I must say, it is an awesome lounge. Evening presentations are also very nice (it's 3 presentations a day). One night, they even had shrimp tempura and a few other nice hot items. And, always Champagne. Open bar during the evening presentation. There is also a business center/computer room with computers (internet access) and printers for use at no additional charge. There are also some "secret" elevators in the back of the lounge, that ONLY access the concierge floors. (Of course, you do NOT have to be on a concierge floor to be granted access to the lounge... especially important if you need a particular suite that is not on a concierge level floor) Concierge Level suites are "basically" the same as regular Palazzo suites.
The Lounge is open daily from 5AM to 11PM
- Breakfast served from 5AM to 11AM
- Afternoon presentation from noon to 4PM
- Evening drinks and hor d'oeuvres from 5PM to 9PM
though, they do have my favorite breakfast (cappuccino [dry w/ extra shot], pellegrino sparkling and dunhill reds)

A few more pics of the lounge :
bar area :

yes, I look like hell (it's early AM --- only a few hours sleep, IIRC -- and yes, we are geeks --- 2 apple laptops in the lounge....)

Very nice. And there's nothing wrong with a macbook! Hell I'd lug my iMac around if I could. Glad to know that it's open bar at least once a day instead of honor bar.
The only thing really concerning me is that I hear that when they raise their table limits that they don't grandfather you in. I've heard this about both craps and blackjack (my two games). While I don't mind playing at $25 min tables, I like having the ability to drop down to $10 or 15 when the shoe or dice are cold. This is something that I've always appreciated being able to do at Wynn and is why I like to get to the tables before the evening gets into full swing and limits go up.

I only play dice @ Palazzo, and have not had any issues finding $10 or $15 tables working, even on the weekends... though, I don't always play during prime-time. With dice I always start out place betting the 6 & 8, and usually at $24 or $30 each.. so, I do agree, $25 tables sort of suck, as the multiple for the majority of my bets starts at $24. Can't speak to blackjack, though the big baccarat limits are always crazy high at Palazzo/Venetian... have never seen them less than $300, IIRC.

This allows you to bet a small amount on a high limit table if that's what you really want to do.
