Palms Place has two 42 inch plasmas in the main room and a LCD flat screen in the bathroom.

Am I the only one who would prefer a good 'ol CRT to a flat screen if the feed is SD analog? I find the flat screens often distort SD signals.

No, you are not -- especially if you cannot control the aspect ratio, as is the case many of these hotel LCDs I have seen.

The aspect ratio is the real issue on most HDTVs, IMO. Even a good SD digital feed can get distorted on HDTVs if stretched. SD analog depends a lot on the feed quality, but is usually passable on HDTVs if not stretched.

Circus, Circus has new rooms with flat screen televisions and is very cheap... 3 nights for $244 total (about $80 per night).

Can we say Daewoo or some other off brand LCD's. Either that, or some guy draw pictures on a flat piece of paper for you behind the wall to entertain you... that could be a flat screen.

After 8 hours at a table and booze, probably can't tell the difference anyway.

Probably cannot tell the difference at that point between a $10 and $100 chip, which is even more scary.
