Tipping is so much a part of the LV life, that if you go to a neighborhood Starbuck's, you will generally see the tip jar very full, and with dollars not pocket change. When I go to S/buck's elsewhere, I really notice that the tip jar is pretty empty!

The more I end up tipping in Vegas is usually a good indication that I'm doing well at the craps table, so that's a good thing.

It is common that servers (this goes for casinos and restaurants actually) have to "tip out" bartenders and bus boys (or girls), I'm sure the cocktail waitresses "tip out" the bartenders as IK in Seattle pointed out. This is quite a bit different than "sharing" of the tips that the dealers do.

One of the common complaints at restaurants from the waitresses is that they have to "tip out" too much or from the flipside, the bartenders and bus boys, is that the waitresses are holding back on them. I believe some restaurants have started instituting mandatory tip outs, and I recently heard that some places do it as a percentage of gross sales for the wait staff (i.e., the servers were supposed to tip out 2% of their gross sales to the bartenders) instead of as a percentage of tips (i.e., 10% of total tips to the bartender) to solve the issue of waitresses short changing the other employees.
