one night in vegas

hey im stopping in vegas for one night on my way to my final destination. What are the things i need to see in that night?
Also i am young (21) and ill be travelling alone. What is the best hotel to meet people so i can find someone to talk to? I hear people mention Hard Rock and the Palms? are they as good as everyone makes them out to be? what about hotels on the strip? price is a consideration here so i kno im not going to get into the best hotels as i would only like to spend $100- $120 tops

thanks to everyone

Mgm!!!

see if you can get in here, studio 54 is worth it and hot! don't have to leave the hotel. call a las vegas room reservation company (check 800 directory assistance), ask them the best rate for mgm, it is perfect and a blast! convenient to airport, excalibur, tropicana, mandalay bay, ny/ny all walkable if you get bored! have fun!

Whether you choose Hard Rock, Palms, MGM or somewhere else I'm sure you'll find people to talk to and have a great time.

One suggestion though from a parent that took 21-23 year old sons to Vegas.

Keep your ID in your shirt pocket - you will use it often!

For Room rates and more ratings take a look at www.cheapovegas.com
Their descriptions are pretty accurate. For room rates I use www.travelaxe.com - you do need to download their free program to use it.

when are you travelling? weeknight or weekend? will you be there in time to enjoy the pool? How long is "one night"? meaning do you arrive at 10pm and then leave the following morning at 8am? More specifics?. Are you just looking for a place to crash and then want to find a hot spot?

If you will be there prior to October I highly suggest you try for a room at the Hard Rock Hotel. The room rate should be reasonable for a Sunday night. They have a pool party called Rehab on Sundays which is awesome. There is just no way to describe it. Also one of the most happenings clubs on a Sunday night is at the HRH. It is called Body English.

Yes it's possible to get a low Sun rate at either HR or Palms, just depends on what's going on in Vegas at that time. If you stay at HR, you'll get a pass to Rehab. Also another option is to get a suite across the street at Alexis Park if rates are too high for you there.

Sounds like you're on a budget, so if you do go to HR, Mr. Lucky's cafe has a $7.77 steak & shrimp special that isn't on the menu.....just ask for it.

One other thing about the clubs in either place....they can be pricey, with $20 -$30 covers & drinks $6 and beyond. There can be lines to get in the "hot" clubs, although Sun. are usually not as bad. Guys may have a little harder time getting in than the girls, and remember to check the dress codes.

It really shouldn't be too much trouble to meet people anywhere in Vegas, it's pretty much a giant party. There are some less expensive places, too. Carnival Court between Harrahs & Imperial Palace would be a good place to check out. Live bands & dancing there. Many of the casino lounges have entertainment & dancing. So if you need to spend a little less, you do have other options & can still have a great time.

You also might want to check out Sparky's Las Vegas Coupons from the Link in this thread.

He has links to free VIP passes & admission to Club Rio, The Beach nightclub, & a link to Napkin Nights where you can see pics of the different clubs and possibly get on the guest list for one of their events.

Plus there's a bunch of other links that you might find useful & save you a few bucks to spend at the clubs. On the More Vegas page, you'll find some other things to check out around sin city. Lots of great Vegas info there for any age, just dig around it.

Oh, & I'd recommend an ID wallet that has the window on the outside. Comes in handy for traveling through airports & yes they will check it in Vegas....and just about any time you use a credit card there. Some casino's security can give you a plastic ID bracelet to save you some trouble while at their property, just ask a guard if you get tired of showing ID.

Have a great trip, & it's easy to do there!
