Question Any weekend deals for August yet?

I am looking to travel to Las Vegas for a weekend in early August. It will be hotter than H*LL but that is okay. Anyone got any info on good weekend rates in August?

Thanks!

Rachel - I have been looking for this as well, noticed that the Tropicana has rooms for $44 during the week, I have never been there but I guess the pool is fab.

I was really looking for deals at the higher end properties (V, Bellagio, THE Hotel, etc)

Hi,

Unfortunately as is common in Las Vegas, the hotel prices on the strip rise ( sometimes dramatically over the weekend).

for example the Mandalay bay could be obtained for $119 mid week ( good value) but can doubles to over $220 at the weekend ( Fri & Sat night)

Regards

Hotel deals on the weekend in Vegas are very rare. Vegas hotels (now mostly corporate owned) know the demand will be higher on the weekends, even in the summer. Therefore, they know they can charge more and get away with it. If the hotel is hosting a big event, such as a concert, fight or convention, you can forget about finding a deal.

I would at least sign up for the major groups mailing lists. This will bring you emails on what deals are available. I would also sign up for players club cards when you get to Vegas, as this will bring you possible deals available only to rated players. They better your rating, the better the deal.

That's because in August it's 110 degrees in the shade in Vegas. Even Elton and Celine don't want to be around at that time.

BTW, there ain't no shade in Vegas

Apparently not too hot for Faith Hill...but Elton is there at the beginning of the month, and Celine at the end of the month.

Suggestions for Hotel 10/6-10/11

So today I booked my flights for my better 1/2 and I to go to Vegas for the 1st time

We aren't so sure where to stay...but money is definitely an issue. I see people posting average nightly rates of just over $100 for the Mandalay Bay and other super-great places... but can't find anything of the sort myself.

Anyone have any suggestions on where to look? Definitely going 10/6-10/11.

Thanks!
Chris

There are a couple large conventions in town so rates are somewhat high that week. I would book a refundable rate at somewhere acceptable and keep checking back for lower rates.

Yes, good properties can be had for around $100 per night, through the week but never on the weekend. It is simple supply and demand.

I might suggest Monte Carlo which was clearly the best deal for me a couple of weeks ago. I stayed Thurs-Friday-Saturday and the rates were $69, $109, and $169 respectively. I could never beat Montecarlo.com for the rate.

Search Google for "Las Vegas room rates" and you will have many sites to try and rates vary quite a bit from site to site.

That's the Columbus Day weekend. I tried to get Bally's at the Casino rate that weekend and was told "no way". Instead they gave us 3 free nights starting Sunday Oct. 10th. For anything under $100 for that weekend you're may have to look at some downtown properties.

You may want to split up your stay. Oct 6+7 & 10+11th may not be too bad for a primo strip hotel, but you may have to downgrade the hotel for the weekend to keep it in the price range.
