all day buffet pass harrah's las vegas casinos 29.95

I was in Las Vegas this past weekend and noted that Harrah's was advertising an all day pass valid for all their properties for $29.95 per day. I've only eaten at Paris and Rio in the past; Rio I felt was so so, but Paris is on a much higher level, crepes made to order and a lot of ethic French cusine i.e. This seems to me to be a "super" deal, since dinner alone is at least $24.95.
[The MGM group has this deal on an individual basis not for the whole group. Unfortunately most of the buffets I've tried have barely edible food:D, except for Bellagio, which doesn't offer an all day pass (yet?).]

The Paris Buffet has gone very downhill in the past year. I don't eat there anymore and I get it comped - that's how bad it is now. Rio is much better, and it isn't that great.

Did the above make any sense? :p

I don't know, if I'm going to eat at a buffet, how many times can I really go in a day without making myself ill? Twice? Maybe once for lunch and once for dinner? Yes it is a savings over a $15 lunch and $25 dinner... but... it's just a decent deal, not an "amazing" deal.

Plus with all the great fine-dining options in Vegas, I wouldn't want to spend an entire day at buffets.

When Wynn offers all day buffet for $30 I'll run and buy it (bypassing all the flying pigs).

The last time I ate at Paris and Rio, about 4 months ago, I thought Paris was much better. What I consider a big plus others might not be at all interested in: I like (blueberry) crepes, Paris's are tasty, Rio doesn't offer these; Paris has French cheeses, Rio No; Paris has an Alsacian dish with sauerkraut and wurst, Rio NO; etc.

It's breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you want just a snack (the Diamond lounge has no hot food (after 6pm)), you can stop in to the Paris buffet, say, which is open until 9 pm and take a "nibble", it doesn't cost anything extra with the pass.:)

Had lunch at Paris on this deal today and the crepes are the only thing this place has that I would ever eat again! To put it mildly, Paris buffet SUCKS! Had lunch at Rio yesterday and it was just ok. We had a quick meal late last night at Planet Hollywood and it is still a good quality buffet. Harrah's has not had time to give this one a bad name yet. Each of the lines were over an hour to be seated.

I would be standing right behind you!

I remember how wonderful the Paris buffet used to be.Not any more IMO.Same with Planet Hollywood.Same with Rio(which has not been good for years)and anything else that Harrahs cheapens with their touch.

Bolding mine.

Truer words were never spoken.

All of the Harrahs casinos have a special lines for diamond (and in some cases one for seven stars in addition), avoiding the long lines.

In the MGM/Mirage group (untouched by Harrahs "paws"), most of the buffets I've eaten at (except for Bellagio), the food is NOT better than what one gets in the Paris or RIO; Excalibur is awful.
[Harrahs occasionally can do things right: lately they've had "lobster Fridays" in Atlantic City, once every two months (or so), Diamond members get it free, you get a single lobster, but there are lots of other lobster dishes, plus their regular buffet fare.]

Wow, I am amazed to hear these comments about the Paris buffet - I still list it as one of the best on my website, but to be honest, haven't eaten there in about a year. Guess it is time to go back and check it out.
We just went to Studio B buffet at the "M" again, and it is still as good as I have been harping about. Hope the Wynn and Bellagio haven't slipped too!

But regarding those all day passes - seriously, most humans hit one buffet and can barely walk for a few hours, and maybe want a half sandwich five hours later, tops. The idea of actually eating three buffets in one day - call the medics!
Then again, I suppose if you just wanted to pop back in for coffee and cake, but that defeats the purpose of paying the price, doesn't it?
Let me know how that "three buffets in a day" works out for you - seriously.
I personally would need about six hours of nap time in between, if not a stomach pump.

Standing in line makes it -EV unless you're a Diamond.

We did a pretty hungover breakfast at the Harrah's buffet last Saturday. You have to wear a wristband during your all day period. You stand in line like normal, they scan the band, and let you in.

From what I saw, all I can say is that the The 'all day' pass attracts an..ahem...interesting clientele. I can't imagine doing it.

For those keeping score: The "Flavors" buffet at Harrah's is decent. Not awesome, not terrible.
