Grasshoppers

Anyone in Vegas at the moment who can give an update on the grasshopper issue? Any particular areas worse than others (besides nighttime on the Strip ) Some of the videos I've seen have been unbelievable!

I was there Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and saw a total of 1 grasshopper the entire time. Was mostly center strip and then spent some time on Fremont

I was there over the weekend and didn't see anything. Mostly on the Strip from the Venetian northwards, so nothing to see there. But a novel situation is that it's so damn hot that planes can't take off if fully loaded or flying long distances, so be prepared for long delays and cancellations.

I haven't been down to the strip since the plague started but out here in the suburbs I would say we have only a few percent of what we had at the peak.

Followup: It's apparently quite variable. Yesterday I was in a parking lot at the edge of town (with about half the nearby land undeveloped, not counting the clear zone between it and a passing freeway) and I watched probably 30 grasshoppers vacate the space a fellow hiker was parking in. At home I saw zero.

I drank three last weekend and it reminded me of the 1970s!!!!!

I will add that I was bummed that I've only seen a couple grasshopper insects in my yard even though I am less than a few miles from the Luxor as a grasshopper flies.
