Wynn/Encore backtracks on self-park charges; free for guests, validation for others
As per Wynn Las Vegas announced free parking for hotel guests - FOX5 Vegas - KVVU:
Less then a year after introducing self-parking charges, Wynn/Encore announced today that hotel guests will no longer be charged for self-parking.

“Our guests choose to stay with us because of the attention we give to perfecting every detail of their experience,” Maurice Wooden, President of Wynn Las Vegas said. “We have come to believe that charging additional parking fees is counter to the personalized service we provide.”
Wynn/Encore is also introducing a validation program for non-guests, with one vehicle's parking fees being validated per $50 in spend:For non-hotel guests and valley residents, self-parking and valet parking at the Wynn and Encore will be validated once per day, per vehicle with a receipt of $50 spent at either the Wynn or Encore.
I'm not holding out hope that this will cause any changes to policy at other casinos, although I've always wondered why validating parking given sufficient spend wasn't the default everywhere to begin with.

Adelson doesn't charge right? I'm guessing that Wynn can better compete against Venetian Palazzo by not charging parking fees

I think the bigger issue with Wynn is how opaque their Red Card loyalty system is, making it hard for members to understand why they got free parking - and if not, how to get it. It's not like Mlife, TR, or even Cosmo Identity where the tier level required for free parking is clear, not to mention how to actually achieve that tier.

Another data point: this is on the front page of MLife properties:
Fascinating... I think things like this may put the lie to the Strip casino protest of "well, everything's fine" when it was pointed out that visitor numbers were a bit down in 2018.
