Update on Mirage dining

Most of you will likely know that Kokomo's has closed and has been replaced by Tom Collicchio's Heritage Steak where the emphasis is NOT on family style dining but rather on composed plates and table side preparations.

Japonais will be closing shortly as well to be replaced by a Morimoto restaurant. The contract apparently stipulates that he will be at the restaurant way more than other celebrity chefs who rarely, if ever, actually spend time in their restaurants in Vegas.

Interesting.. thanks for the update!

I just came back from the Mirage and noticed Tom Colicchio's new steakhouse. Disappointing to hear about Japonais since I used to go there quite a bit because I liked the atmosphere of the lounge/bar.

I agree interesting.

20 years ago, Mirage was the jewel of the Strip. Not the case anymore, and I'm curious what their target demographic is.

Not sure how it was like 20 years ago since I'm in my early 20's. However, I'm curious to what their target demographic is as well since I've been noticing that there's a mix between the younger and older crowd.

20 years ago Mirage volcano and tropical theme was a sight to behold.

Now? Couldn't tell you since I haven't been there for 20 years
