I vote for Love. I was not a Beatles fan before I went but was very impressed with the show. I think it is the best Cirque show of those I have seen.
Be sure to read reviews on various web sites about where to sit. Sitting in a higher row actually allows you to see more at certain parts of the show.

I enjoyed both, and would pay to see either one again. I am familiar with more than 2 Beatles songs though
Love is typically cheaper, as there are frequent 2 for 1 offers available. I'd also say that it's a little easier to follow. If your friend likes the Beatles, then it's a no-brainer to pick this show.
I'd suggest keeping an eye on these sites for discounted offers:
http://www.travelzoo.com/entertainment/las-vegas/
http://www.smartervegas.com/
Another option is to get $100 Vegas.com giftcards for $80 each from costco, and buy your tickets through their site.
Different sites will frequently have different offers, so you'll have to look around to find the best deal.

If you've never seen a Cirque show, then 'O' (or Mysterre or Ka). Otherwise it comes down to whether you want more stunts and acrobatics ('O') or theatrics and music (Love). I saw 'O' years ago and really liked it, but due to the nature of the performance, the setting isn't as small and close up as other shows. I just saw Love and drew out a lot of memories of my growing up. The sounds was spectacular.

love
I found O to be a little tedious. I think Love was much more lively. If you want the Beatles guy to be happy, see Love. You might want to try Ka.
There are usually deals for tix for Love and Ka.
Also, Phantom is closing in Sept and is a great show. There are usually deals for that show too.
Good luck.

Everyone I know who likes the Beatles loved LOVE. I'm not much of a Beatles fan and I was bored.
O is more traditional, and quite amazing.
For some reason, my friends and I all detested KA. Two walked out.

I have seen both. I would choose O over Love any day. Love was entertaining but we had discounted tickets for prime seats -- I would not want to pay full price for those at Love.
For O we were able to get casino allotment seats which are very much worth it. O was a spectacular show.
