CES 2011 Rollcall
Out of curiosity, how many FTers are heading to Vegas for CES this week?
I fly out tomorrow for briefings on Tuesday and Press Day on Wednesday. I'm also staying Sunday and flying out on Monday, which everybody tells me was a mistake because it's like a ghost town on Sunday. I dunno, maybe I can gamble on Sunday.

I'll be there, Wednesday-Saturday, visiting companies and the exhibits. Staying at the Encore, checked in under Pickles.

I'll be there. Arriving on the night of the 6th, departing on the morning of the 13th, staying at Harrah's.
This will be my wife's first time there so we're staying a few extra days.
Hope to meet up an FTer!

Your post was totally appropriate as I perceive the intent of the threads as being slightly different. Still, some of you who are going might enjoy attending the meet up being arranged in the Community thread.

Grrhhh, did I get ripped off by the Monte Carlo?
When I booked my hotel in August, they said the total would be $645.
When I checked in 2 hours ago, I signed the receipt without looking at the rates the woman wrote down. I was tired from traveling.
Got up to the room and they charged some $900 to my CC. Did I get screwed or are they just overcharging in case I run up a room service bill?

I figure I'm screwed because I initialed and signed the room rates the receptionist put on the receipt. The only way I'm getting out of this is if they overcharged for the purpose of incidentals.
I mean, it's going on the taxes as a business expense. And it's my fault for not paying attention. But it's short of bill shock and a bad way to start my CES trip.
