Yes. I know starting wage was like $14 per hour for Culinary union workers in 2003 plus TONs of generous benefits & excellent working conditions. Paris buffet is union.

Perhaps, the omelet chef refusing this tip was due to health code (as escog pointed out in Reply #9) and/or union regulations.

Well, to answer my own question, we went to Harrah's in Cherokee, Nc this weekend and I noticed tip boxes at the cashier cages. This particular casino has the absolute slowest ticket/bill machines in the world and the lines are often a 5-6 person wait. If I need a hundred split to 5's or 20's, I cannot justify tipping them for this service. Maybe if I win a small jackpot and decide not to wait the line at the machines.....but just to get initial change, no way
