LAX Lounge
Can anyone share info on the KE lounge situation at LAX? I'm in C on the LAX-NRT flight - are there any decent snacks or should I eat breakfast before I go there?

All carriers using TBIT are sharing one lounge at this moment due to undergoing lounge renovations. KE used to have its own lounge in the past.

Do SkyTeam Elite Plus pax (DL Platinum Medallion in my case) flying KE Y get access to the (squalid) interim Business Class lounge at TBIT? I'll be on the afternoon flight to Incheon, not one of those in the bank of 1am departures.
I ask because some threads I've seen indicate that *Alliance Golds flying Y don't get access, presumably because of concerns regarding overcrowding of the lounge.

I have used the temporary business class lounge at LAX/TBIT twice since November. It is slightly inconvient to get to because of the bus ride and is lacking in shower facilities. It is large, well stocked with beverages and finger foods and has internet access. In my view it is a long way from being "squalid"
Access is limited to passengers flying business class. The passanger is given an invitation at check in and that card is given to the staff at the gate past security before boarding the bus. The temporary 1st class lounge is locatqated in the TBIT and does not require a ride to the remote hanger.

Since I haven't visited it myself, I suppose I should withdraw the squalid parenthetical. It was based on quite a number of consistently negative reports by others, so I thought (mistakenly) that it was on firm ground. It was intended to be a relative term, of course, and was used tongue-in-cheek.
Since I consider TBIT in general squalid, a categorically disgraceful gateway to the United States, I'm considering going another route if the fares and service make sense. Hours sitting on the floor in TBIT after fighting my way through the zoo in the check-in hall is nothing to look forward to and doesn't exactly leave fond memories of the United States.
Thanks for the info.
