LAX to ICN question (A380 vs ?)

It seems that some of the 777-300 and 787's are fitted w/ the new kosmo 2.0 suites, but LAX usually only seems to have A380 flights.
Does anyone know about the situation w/ LAX-ICN route as far as switching planes goes?
Are they only A380 these days?

I'm not certain, but I think it's the 380 pretty regularly. Sadly, that's not the case tonight....we're waiting for our ICN flight now and it's one of the old 747-400's. Disappointing, but from what I understand, equipments swaps are rather common.

Wow, sorry. That's a big downgrade and the only swap I saw on KE's LAX-ICN flights in last 14 days. Bad luck I guess.

Wow, that is very bad luck in terms of the cabin! While I am impartial to the A380, the 744 cabin is dated. That being said, I'd more than welcome a swap to the 748

I vaguely remember there being 2x A388 flights and one 777 flight. But I'm most likely misremembering.
Edit: I can't find any trace of this so I must have been imagining it.

There was a 77W on top of 2 380 flights to LAX but 77W was seasonal.

HL7613, an A380, went mechanical two days ago at JFK. KE can maintain all A380 routes with one less fleet, but LAX had to be swapped because one A380 went to JFK to carry strained passengers. So that was very unfortunate. Other than that, KE rarely swap fleet except a rather frequent 77W swap between kosmo ver. 1.0 and 2.0.

One month ago, HL7613 went mechanical at CDG, and LAX swapped from A380 to 77W to arrange one A380 extra flight to CDG.

Oh, you have no idea. Very very, unhappy people on this flight and while uncomfortable and disappointed, my sister and I chose to make light of the issue. Lots of laughs despite being in a dinaosaur for 13 hours.

I see you were on HL7402. It looks to be a 747-400 V4, which has 308 Economy class, 45 Prestige class, and 10 First class seats (in comparison to the A388, with 293 Economy class, 94 Prestige class, and 12 First class seats).

I would imagine there is a pecking order when it comes to working out equipment swaps like this, no? What if you're flying on an award ticket in Prestige class? They bump you to Economy class?

Can one get miles refunded if this is the case?

I think it was actually version 5. There were 12 seats in F, and prestige class went from 94 all the way down to 24. There were many, many unhappy people, and if I'd had a business seat on the 380 and was downgraded to coach on this plane, I would have been livid too.

I wrote to Korean voicing my displeasure but I have yet to hear from them. I didn't ask for anything, nor do I think they're obliged to offer anything - and as I mentioned earlier, my sister and I chose to make the best of a bad situation and have our own fun. I would imagine if one decided to cancel upon hearing of an inferior product change, one would certainly get the miles refunded. Not sure about any fees.

Incidentally, we connected on to Bangkok in F on a 777W. Fabulous flight.
