Partner Award Rules - Emirates

I am interested in using korean miles for partner award redemption on Emirates for AKL-IAD. I have read that Korean requires a roundtrip ticket in order to book partner awards, is this correct? My preference would be to do a one way partner award ticket, but not sure if that is possible.

Also, if a round trip award is required, does anyone know what their open jaw rules are? Would I be able to do something such as IAD-DPN-AKL-IAD?

Thanks!

For partner airline tickets, only round-trip tickets are possible.
The question though is, how much YQ KE charges for EK flights.
I'm not sure about this myself, so you may want to check this first, as it might be a big amount.
Also, which airport is DPN?

So you meant DPS.
There's no airport coded DPN.

If you get a chance to find out how much YQ is added by KE on EK flights, please let us know, as I'm curious about this myself.

Booked biz on EK for DXB-LAX with KE miles - as there were only full fare biz available @ $8200 USD

The miles required were 140,000 mi round trip which I thought it wasn't too bad. The tax and other fees came up to be 890 USD which I thought was crazy but hey - for $8200 ticket, why not.

Probably would not spend miles on EK though for any other trips that has discounted fares available or first class products.

Thanks for sharing, the YQ is indeed pretty crazy as you said.
Still not a bad deal considering the price of the revenue ticket they were selling!
