KE-AA stops interlining

Well, KE last July stopped interlining with DL (we were not able to combine tickets with DL domestic routes except some cities around ATL that only DL can offer 1-stop itinerary to Seoul) or DL stopped with KE or whatever. KE for a long time, didn't combine tickets with UA, and AA was the only hope for small cities that Jetblue or Alaska doesn't fly into.

Now, according to Austin's largest Korean travel agency, they "may not" be able to combine AA flight on a KE ticket from next week anymore. We'll see if this is really the case.

Update: The new rule is to begin from Wed. this week (10/23). According to travel agency websites (all Korean), all AA flights via ORD and DFW will be suspended. I'm not sure what "ANS" means (AND?), but direct flights from LAX to AUS, IAH, MIA, and STL might be impacted also. Here's a note from the travel agency website:

1.Applicable fare : KE though fare including AA sector below

2.AA sector : All AA sector to/from CHICAGO,DALLAS ANS LAX-AUS, LAX/HOUSTON, LAX-MIA, LAX-SAINT LOUIS

3.Effective date : 2013.10.23

this maybe due to new AA's aggressive pacific routes like DFW-ICN. from AA's perspective, don't they want customers to fly AA to/from Korea? I'd bet if interlining indeed terminate, it is due to AA's demand rather than the KE's.

Yes, being a largest foreign carrier on TPAC isn't easy. KE's DFW (as well as ORD) route has been heavily dependent on AA, and KE will have some hard time.

This is the notice issued by Korean Air Taiwan office (Chinese), says begins from 24OCT13. ANS is the typo of AND.

Thanks for the correction. The date difference might be due to time difference. Orbitz.com currently shows no more AA+KE combined fare for the listed flights (DFW, ORD, and selected LAX).
