Does KE Allow First Class Mileage Redemptions

http://boardingarea.com/blogs/onemil...comment-614039

I recently came across this post and it claims KE allows you to redeem F rewards on its program without STATUS ? I thought both AF & KE do not allow this ?

Has this changed ?

AF requires status simply because F awards can be booked only as flex awards, and only elites can book flex awards.

There was a comment posted to the blog post linked above (comment #35) reports that someone called and was told you do NOT need elite status with KE to redeem for F.

Is there reason to assume that you need status? Can anyone confirm one way or the other?

I am a base member in the Skypass program and I just booked a first class award very recently including an ICN-HKG flight that is scheduled to be an A380.

A few sources of confusion arising from the fact that both KE and AF appear to be talked about on this thread.

1. Kosmo Suites (i.e. KE F) used to be only available to top-tier KE Skypass members, but not anymore. Now it's open to all, including the A380.

2. Air France, I believe, remain unbookable in F apart from Flying Blue elites booking the Flex awards.

This. Exactly. 100%. Hopefully now we can put this to bed. (Along with the idea of using KE miles to redeem for AF F, which is unpossible because of #2.)
