Help redeeming upgrade award using skypass miles
I'm trying to purchase Y tickets and redeem skypass miles to upgrade for a RT ICN-ATL in June for my mother and father in-law.
Anybody know what fare basis codes are eligible for upgrade awards?
Having lots of trouble. Called the reservation line in Korea, and agent said she could make a reservation, put in a request for the upgrade award, but we cannot ticket until March, becuase fares haven't been published.
Apparently we can't book online using korea region (korean language) koreanair.com. But using Americas region (English language) koreanair.com the itinerary shows a ticket for $2087.99US is bookable and the fare class (M) is eligible for an upgrade award.
Any suggestions or insights would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

One good way is to call gatour.com (Georgia based largest Korean travel agency) and get some help. They know what is the lowest fare eligible for upgrade.
H fare (which is around 1800 USD on high season incl June, 1600 USD on low season) from east US to Korea is not upgradable, so I once paid 200 USD more for upgrade. So I think koreanair.com is correct.
