Unhappy korea stopover fee

Hi!
ill be having a trip MNL-JFK via incheon this coming september 2009 and im planning of having a 2-day stopover in seoul. for those who have done this before or have an idea. please share your input regarding these queries.

1. is there an extra charge on the airfare like an extra tax since ill be having a 2-day stopover?
2. do i need to pay for a departure tax separately at the incheon airport?

if the answer is yes, please specify the amount. if you just know.

much thanks!

Sometimes when you book a stopover, you only departure tax, sometimes it causes the ticket to be much more expensive.

Korean departure tax is included in the ticket price, and is about 21$.

matrix.ITAsoftware.com (click on Guest) is great for this

The cheapest fare from MNL to NYC via ICN that I see in June is PHP 82402 The fare rules (DL MNL-NYC LHOPH) allow a stopover in ICN:
Code:
  UNLIMITED STOPOVERS PERMITTED
     LIMITED TO 1 FREE AND UNLIMITED AT USD 75.00 EACH.
       NONE IN JAPAN.
     CHILD/INFANT DISCOUNTS APPLY.
DL MNL->NYC LHOPH
CO EWR->MNL: VHEOPH5

Thumbs up got an answer!

hi. much thanks for replying guys.

i asked korean air regarding this matter they said that if your ticket has at least 3 mos duration a 1 free stopover is given. you just have to pay the terminal fee of the the country of choice for the stopover and in this case korea($23) and the next stopover has a $75 charge + terminal fee!

so, let's go to korea!

Good to note that you received the same answer as what is stated in the fare rules posted above by ralfp!

If you change money at the airport, go the to departure level, not the arrival level. The arrival level exchange rate is worse, even with banks that have offices on both levels!
