Connecting flight at ICN

Hi:

I booked a ticket from YVR to ICN with Air Canada, but then booked a separate ticket for ICN to HAN (same terminal) 2.5 hours later. I have no checked bags so I'm not worried about that, but would I have to clear customs and re-enter? Or can I get off the plane and walk straight to the gate?

Neither. You will pass through Transit security, then be allowed into the departure area.

Piggybacking on the OP's question, if you're connecting from UA to OZ on 2 different tickets, but your checked-in luggage is interlined (since they're both *A partners), I assume you'll still not be required to go through the immigration-customs-retrieve luggage-recheck process?

Also, in this situation, would a transit time of 1.5 hours be sufficient? What's the current situation at the airport?

Correct - just transit security. ( And transit desk to pick up boarding pass if you do not have it).

1.5 hours is the MCT. You should be OK as long as you either have the boarding pass for the second
flight, or do not have to wait too long to get one at the transit desk. Remember to show your luggage tags at the transit desk.
