Recommendations for ICN layover accomodation
Currently planning an intinerary with an overnight (evening to early afternoon) layover in ICN through T1 in March. The terminal hotel at T1 appears to be closed then. I can't find information on the T1 capsule but their booking portal also shows March onwards blocked out.
Are there any recommendations for (budget-ish) areas to stay? I've been to the Best Western on a STPC but there was nothing much else in terms of restaurants and shops in that area.

There are some decent budget options around ICN airport, but if you stayed at the Best Western and didn't like what was around, then most likely the same issue would apply to the other hotels in the area.
If you're after a variety of restaurants and shops nearby, probably better to catch a train or bus into Seoul.

You can take the AREX All stop train to Hongdae - many more options there for budget and food and nightlife and quite fun area. The airport area itself is dead, just literally an island separated from everything. Unless you go to PARADISE CITY CASINO lol but that's not budget by any means.
