ICN international boarding queue

Folks

Flying this morning ICN to LHR on Ba in CW.

Currently standing in departures queue easily 50 mins long.

Have been told CW has no priority on this queue which finding hard to believe.

Is this true?

I know you're probably in LHR now, but did you mean the check-in queue or the security/immigration queue? As one of the most effective airports, I've never seen a 50min queue at either even on the peak travel times in Korea. But anything is possible. If it is the security/immigration queue that you are mentioning, remember there is more than one area. Some people think they must go to the security area closest to check-in which if a few flights have opened check-in at the same time can get crazy. Walking a minute or two to the next one could save you tons of time at security and immigration and have you in the lounge in no time.

I've been in a boarding queue for 50 mins at PEK before. terrible AC ground staff and impatient Y crowd all trying to board at once. Never seen such a wait at Incheon for any flight though.

I concur with the above posts. ICN is one of the top efficient airports in the world, either for arrival or departure.

I'm surprised you had such an experience.

Why not take a seat and board right after the end of boarding? Carry on space isn't usually a problem in CW or any premium class...

Last week I was at ICN for departure.

There was a long queue in front of the immigration/security check, however, it just looked longer than it actually was. After 15 minutes, I was at the security check point.

So, overall ICN is very efficient.
