Chuseok is equivelant to Thanksgiving Holiday in the US. It's time of family gathering and feasting. It's not as popular in the US, because Koreans living the states tend to celebrate the US holiday instead.

Thank you! It was a great weekend although in true FT style I used AE miles to book a very very cheap return to Koh Phi Phi in Thailand for only 20 000 miles. Chuseok truly is a great time to travel (if a little bit expensive!).
