I looked at KLM's summer 2009 schedule. I noticed that KLM is planning on using an MD-11 to Toronto for the evening flight from Sept. 27 on. I am very unhappy about this. I think the Boeing 777-200ER would be a much better choice as the MD-11 is a leisure aircraft. The Boeing 777-200ER is much nicer. As long as KLM operates the MD-11 to Toronto I will not fly with them at least between Amsterdam and Toronto. I will go with BA or LH instead.

I see that the flight from JNB has actually been moved up into April. I was originally scheduled to fly from JNB to AMS on 26-apr with equipment of 747M but now is scheduled as 777...

But that means KL735 on thursdays are cancelled and replaced by KL785.

So flying with my kids in April to CUR means now several hours extra and no personal IFE.

I see that the Manila flight now use the 777-300ER for the whole week rather than the 777-200 for part of the week. That means the back seat screens will be Wide-screens. Whoopee Doo. It would be better if they removed a few rows from the economy section and give the passengers a better than pitiful space to sit in.

The 777-200 has less seats and a 3-3-3 configuration in economy rather than more seats and a 3-4-3 configuration which is what the 777-300 has.

Sitting for up to 13 hours or more in KLM Economy Class is not for the faint hearted especially when the start handing out these awful pot noodles (they stink) or as the cabin staff call it Noodle Soup.

I recently received noticed that KL429 (overnight AMS-DXB) has been cancelled due to it going from daily to 3x a week only

KL429 AMS 2055 DXB 0520+1 135
KL430 DXB 0710 AMS 1210 246

I had to reroute my reward ticket AMS-ZRH-DXB combo KL/EK to fly overnight to DXB
