I've just realised that FD are offerring 50% savings on award flights through to end March
Have they done this before and do you think they will make same offer later in year?

This is an ongoing thing - I think it probably has to do with passenger loads...
Sometimes the discounts are a fixed mileage reduction e.g. 5000 or 10000 miles less than normal or a 25% or 50% reduction.

If you fly from certain airports from the UK where they have 50% off to AMS then you can get the connection to anywhere in europe that is serviced by KLM for free.
So basically all you pay is 12,500 points to KLM's european destinations if you book on-line.
