NW upgrades
Advice please? Trying to get a miles upgradeon NW - MEM-AMS in January. I’ve done the online request but, of course, the system doesn’t give an email acknowledgement of this. So the request heads off into the ether..... In the past, upgrades made via the web for NW have appeared succesfully just after the 90-day mark. But, calling the FD ‘helpdesk’ gets the response that they have no record of the upgrade request, that anyway there are no seats available, that there is no waitlist, and that there’s no point in calling back until 30 days before the flight, so please don’t bother them again. All par for the course. Emailing the FD ‘helpdesk’ gets a brushoff - ‘for security reasons, we canot respond to your question - please call the FD helpdesk’
Is is true that the helpdesk can’t see if an upgrade request has been made via the web? And is the ‘no waitlist’ on NW flights a new thing? There certainly was a waitlist system in operation this spring.
