Upgrading to Cairo
I noticed that Upgrades to Cairo are very steep at 25'000 miles per one way, compared to anywhere in the US for 20'000.
I really have plenty of miles, but the flights seem fairly empty. Plus, it's a 767.
Would you recommend upgrading or should a couple of seats in Y be better. I will be very tired, especially on the 4:50h night flight back ...
Is there a chance they will come out with a promo for less miles before April 15th? Maybe a chance they would upgrade out of courtesy for a platinum?

I doubt very much that you will get a free upgrade as a PE. These seem to only happen when KLM need your seat for someone else.
I would not upgrade a 4 1/2 hour flight but that is my preference.

The CAI flight is already downgraded from a MD 11 to a 767, so I guess you will find plenty of open seats....
Chance for a complimentary upgrade are virtually non-existent, there is an official rule that nobody gets upgraded, unless coach is overbooked and from what I can say KLM staff is playing by the rules pretty consistent.
Don`t know about the Web@wards, though.
Some were pulled recently, some came up unexpected on short notice in the past, so you never know, but I would not rely on it.Select your seat in the Select Seating area and ask to block the adjacent seat, when you check in...
