Upgrades at CO

Since I did not get any information on the new program yet:

How many miles do I need to upgrade a CO flight from europe to the US?
Does it include the domestic connection?

20,000 Oliver, don't know if you get upgraded on the domestic flight though.

Upgrades to Business First are listed on this table:

http://www.continental.com/onepass/r...CFBD7E7544A29E

Its 10,000 miles each way for a full Y fare, otherwise 20,000 miles for others.

Keep in mind that you must either buy a HoKeY fare or pay the BendForward supplement to be eligible to upgrade to BizFirst. For details see here: http://www.nonepass.com

If you are lucky enough to get a BizFirst upgrade from Europe to US, normally the domestic connections ARE included in the upgrade miles. BUT in some cases, CO agents have been known to state that this is NOT guaranteed.

If I had a choice, I would go fly on NW WBC instead and avoid the headache.

IIRC correctly, KLM upgrade rules apply so no HoKeY s*** or BendForward fees. What is correct?

Just got my KL guide. You can upgrade ANY CO fare with KL miles that is why I like KL miles better than CO miles, CO rules suk!

But, and the big one...had anybody actually been able to redeem their FD Miles for either a freebie ticket or an upgrade. I'm particularly interested in upgrading to the US, but somebody told me that, 'out of Gatwick ? You must be joking'

on a tangent, but related: just been told by the FD helpdesk that you cannot upgrade CO-coded flights operated on VS aircraft (eg: LHR-EWR).
Interesting, given that you can do it with OnePass miles and that the CO-VS arrangement is not an ordinary codeshare but a hardblock (and a range of specific seats on VS aircraft are allocated exclusively to CO as if it were a co aircraft).

I got the same message from the FD Helldesk regarding CO codeshares - they are definitely not available.

I have had an upgrade request in the system since July 2003 to upgrade my party travelling this weekend BHX - EWR - MIA. KL lost my request at least four times and CO rejected the request three times. It was eventually rejected because it was submitted too early. I have resubmitted the request repeatedly with the same response.

ITN.NET shows availability in all classes for my flights yet CO will not release the upgrades.

So much for the alliance.

Obviously very route dependant. I have managed to secure 2 Business First seats DUB - EWR in August with KLM miles. They did lose my request at KLM but when I faxed a complaint - had the flights within 24 hrs.
