Understanding Erratic Points
Okay, from reading on the boards, I understand FD points earning and rewards vary by country. I am doing the RW match and have flown 20 segments but only show a balance of 12000 points in my account. Yes, I completed the match but I understand that NW in US earns a minumum of 450 service points.
Therefore:
450 x 20 segs = 9000
3000 must be from the RW bonus however, this would only translate to 50% bonus miles instead of top tier 100% bonus miles.
Does this appear correct? Am I misunderstanding something here?
Also, some segments, ie. ATL-DTW, were more than the 450 points minimum.
Lastly, the question on most people's minds, when are the points available for use. I have some future purchases planned but want to use the points to upgrade end of this month.

There is no such thing as an elite bonus with FD, on ly a class of service bonus (double in business and quadruple in first). No idea where those 3000 come from. presumably, these are not service level points? How many points did you get for ATL-DTW and in which class were you flying?

I have about the same # of points after 20 segments. My extra 2700 came from the double miles on CO metal for 6 segments. I would guess that your extra came from a bonus as well.
By the way worldbanker, where are you these days? Do I remember right that you moved to Europe permanently?

You only need 12.000 points OR 20 segments for the promo!
There is no relation between those 20 segs' or 12k points. A dutch member would e.g. get only 20x300=6k points for those flights...
I did two transatlantic flights in Y with some connectors, total 12.200 points with 8 segments.

Some questions and some answers:
NickB- ATL-DTW was NW F but not displayed on boarding pass. 100% on NW upgrades with KL but only 33% on CO.
Disappointed to see no elite bonus for RW as this benefit is what keeps me on paid tickets on any airline! I mean, why should I fly to Dubai on KL if instead I get 100% bonus AA miles and get to do it on BA!
srodr- yes, I moved back to Spain after losing job end of last year. European Residency took so long so I came back here to work for same employer again! This is how my milage runs got started in the whole place, flying back and forth between home and consulting projects in US! So far, I have been laid off and rehired by employer 3 times in the past 4 years! BTW, we were just in Seattle again just this past weekend.
Hagbard- couldn't check account online so I called Netherlands to get balance and segments
Ralfknipper- the mysterious bonus miles are probably based on 3 segments done under 2x points on CO but that would not account for all of them though

Sorry, worldbanker, seems I misread your first post and thought that you wanted to meet both 12.000 points and 20 segments for the promo-run.
So your balance will show where those points come from or why they are missing. If you don't get them by request, KLM sends out balances every 8 weeks.
Maybe you can look into your account at one of the AMS lounges. At least they can see your balance and maybe some more information on their screens.
