I believe that s_m is right the no of points earned is different for Dutch members.
As I recall a flight from LHR - AMS ( economy )earns a Dutch member 200 points, but a UK member 350.

Ok. I remember when I looked at registering in either the UK or The Netherlands, the UK was alot better. My recollection was that the miles were the same but the elite level thresh-holds were different. But I could easily be remembering things incorrectly (I'm mentally trying to block out every encounter I have had with KLM in the past couple of years 
)
I'm on a flight from Brussels at 11.50am today, so will try and get some information from the lounge KLM use.
