KLM to outsource facility services ops

"KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, part of the Air France Group, plans to outsource its facility services activities and is in talks with two potential buyers, Sodexho Alliance SA and Johnson Controls Inc, Het Financieele Dagblad reported.

A KLM spokesman confirmed to the paper that the airline is looking at outsourcing the facility services activities."

Would somebody care to enlighten this ignoramus: what are "facility services activities"?

Sodexho Alliance are in the food and hospitality management business.

Think catering.

Very vague indeed. Johnson Controls' facilities services webpage isn't all that specific. Could be anything from running KLM Schiphol ground ops to managing maintenance etc.

Perhaps JCI's auto interior division will suggest spiffing up the 772 cabins with some plusher seats
