Adding stopover to Webaward
I realize that stopovers cannot be booked on the website or for webawards (which, of course, must be booked on the website). Has anyone booked a Webaward, and then called the FD "Helpdesk" to change one of their segments, in order to create a stopover? Did the Helpdesk require a re-issue, or just make the date/flight change -- hopefully, charging only 2,500 for the change, and not doubling the miles needed for the award.

Don't!
If the HelpDesk touches a WebAward for ANY reason they ALWAYS refund it and reissue as a phone award. I called and asked.
I just found out the hard way; changed the return date on a 50k WebAward and they deducted additional 50k plus 2,500. I called and they said I could cancel award for a further 2,500 and re-book if I liked, but I did not want to be bothered as I would be getting back 23,500 anyway.
(The new return date was not within the WebAwards dates and I thought at most they would deduct 25,000 for the return plus 2,500, for a total of 75,000 plus 2,500. Instead they refunded the outbound as well and rebooked at normal rates).
