KLM - AF programs, when?
Hello,
I am flying to Japan from Europe for a long, personal stay, going there in July, staying for 6 months.
The KLM fare is about half of AFs for such a long stay but I'm elite in AF while basic in KLM, so I think I will fly KLM this time.
With the merger, do you know if I'll be able to count the flight as either FD or FP?
I'm flying in July, so the question is, if at that time, there will be some kind of union between both programs, or maybe equal elite treatment regardless of being elite in KLM or AF.
Will they comp if I ask?

Rumor has it that the "relationship" won't be complete until autumn (I've heard 1 October), so I wouldn't count on getting credit for the Japan to Europe leg in July (although it could happen, I suppose).
However, if things go as planned, the return leg in December/January on KLM could be eligible for AF credit.

AF/KL codeshare starts 1st June
KL and AF begin codesharing with effect from 1st June.
