E190 winglets?

This might be the wrong place to mention, but. Recently read the news on an American E175 losing its winglet during turbulence, and I had taken a photo of this E190 Cityhopper winglet earlier this week. Wonder if it is something worth mentioning & who to raise to if it is really an issue? ... or am I making a fuss about nothing?

You're making a fuss about nothing. While KLM certainly has its faults, its safety and maintenance standards are beyond reproach.

Are you referring to what looks like a patched up crack under the KLM logo?

The deadliest passenger aviation crash in history was caused by a KLM pilot...

Although that had nothing to do with KLM or Panam's procedures, maintenance or safety standards. Human error always plays, especially back then - a lot of new safety measures were put in place so this doesn't happen again.

In the 1970s, caused by unclear instructions from ATC. Find me a KL fatality since then.

KLC / KL... Tomato / Tomato (doesn't quite work written down).

It's a wholey owned subsidiary isn't it?

And yes, 30 years ago but certainly fatal and after 1970... which was the question.

I guess we can all agree that KLM has improved a lot. Between the end of WW2 and 1961 they averaged almost one fatal crash a year. Yet people happily kept flying KLM.

I'm struggling to think of any other major airline without similar numbers in the same time frame... Maybe QF had better numbers.

We sure have moved forward since.

SK, for example.

AF, on the other hand, suffered an average of about two fatal accidents a year in that period.
