KLM won't let me connect at YUL

I'm looking for an itinerary between AMS and YHZ for my mother-in-law in November. She'd rather connect in YUL than YYZ, but KLM doesn't offer any connections through YUL. They partner with Westjet for connections through YYZ, but not through YUL? It doesn't make sense to me.

What would you have us say? If there an no connections, there are no connections. Not surprising at all that KLM would use YYZ.

It may not make sense to you but apparently it does make sense to them, so as you will not force them to add some additional code-shares from YUL, either you move on and book via YYZ or you fly with other airlines !

KL partners have a lot more flights from YYZ as opposed to YUL. I see why they would decide to prefer YYZ for connections.

Could a (Brick-and-mortar) travel agent make that happen for you?

Not sure. I wasn't able to price any connection via YUL on the way over to Canada. On the way back it was possible but resulted in a 10 hour layover.

you can force connections on matrix.itasoftware.com (and gflights to some extent)

KL671 flies AMS-YUL (3pm-5:05pm).

Picking a random day in Nov (Nov 15)
WS only has one YUL-YHZ flight (10am-12:50pm), which means you'll have to overnight (or do another connection) if flying AMS-YUL-YHZ

You can definitely buy this (nonideal)ticket

on the way back, WS only has YHZ-YUL 8am-9am, in time for KLM's YUL-AMS 6pm-8am

@GateGuardian 's flight is seasonal, until 10/26/19. can't tell when it picks up, you can look for WS's schedule (definitely not available in Nov)

you can fly in Air canada within canada, try it out? obviously more expensive (can make the return layover 3 hours instead of 10, +$300)

1 TRANSFERS PERMITTED IN EACH DIRECTION
BETWEEN WS AND WS IN CANADA IN EACH

BETWEEN AC AND AC IN CANADA IN EACH

AND - 2 TRANSFERS PERMITTED IN EACH DIRECTION
BETWEEN KL AND AC/WS IN CANADA IN EACH
DIRECTION
BETWEEN KL AND AF/AZ/DL/KL IN UNITED STATES/
CANADA IN EACH DIRECTION.
AND - 2 TRANSFERS PERMITTED IN EACH DIRECTION
BETWEEN KL AND AF/AZ/DL/KL/VS IN EUROPE IN
EACH DIRECTION.
FARE BREAK SURFACE SECTORS NOT PERMITTED AND
EMBEDDED SURFACE SECTORS PERMITTED ON THE FARE
COMPONENT.
eg: this is possible, 2-3hour layover via YUL both ways, lowest you can get for AC legs are usd$1129. WS legs are cheaper due to lower YQ

I have flown on TA-booked itineraries (and will in fact be on one later this month) that were not bookable online, but that the TA could Book as a single ticket/itinerary (across multiple airlines and alliances).

You might try calling a TA to see what is possible.

I've looked at the fares, but end-on-end was not permitted for KL fares, to combine with YUL-YHZ. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

I don't know why I couldn't price the connection with other flight that seems to exist on Google.

I just picked some random Nov dates. It can be priced on KL fare (€587 round trip) but the connection time is 9 to 16 hours in YUL thus most websites will not show it as an option.
