Thank you. I used the online form and sent in a 24 hr request. My flight does still show on klm.com website, though I assume this always is the case given the 2-4 weeks waiting time on requests. I have not cancelled my trip manually, and assume this will be done by KLM automatically if the request is accepted?

Yes. It took only a few days for the refund to come through, rather than the quoted 2-4 weeks. The booking was cancelled automatically, but not within 24 hours, so don't worry, your refund will come as long as you put the request in within 24 hours.

Also, they generally only reserve the amount on your credit card the first 24-36 hours before actually charging it, which makes it easier to cancel within that period without actually charging you.

It doesn't help much as it takes them longer than that time to refund it, I've cancelled few times within 24hrs, in all cases my CC was charged and then refunded few days later.

What will happened if I cancel my flight and request to refund exceeds 24 hours (in my case 27 hours) after received ticket copy from KLM? Will it still be full refund? Is anyone experiencing the same case?
