50 might be MCT but that does not mean that you should not worry about missing connection.
And KLM is not selling that connection LAX-AMS-CPT anymore. Maybe they are risk averse? I can understand that they might reroute you via LHR if flight LK602 is delayed. But means departing LAX at 13:45 local time on day t (say leave home 3 hours earlier). Then getting in CPT at 10:00 local time on day t+2 (say arriving hotel at 11:30), In the meanwhile enjoying 4 different airports, over 40 hours of travel and two nights in a plane. Even in J, I would not wish it. Best choice might be spending a day in AMS. Could be worse. OPS |
I find this all rather strong fearmongering. LAX-AMS is on average early and very rarely late. OP is front-plane, first-off, in J (very very first off) and can make the connection in I would guess anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes (30 if you were to walk at an extremely deliberately slow pace).
An hour is fine. |

Agreed... Heavy tailwind and hopefully both heavy planes are in same area. If delayed out of LAX they will rebook you but it would be an overnight if they can't hold the aircraft for your transfer (+ luggage).

If you are rebooked you'll be carried in the class you were in, GUC or not. You'll also be entitled to at least 600 euros in compensation per person and hotel / food vouchers.

It is amazing to see how large corporations and their different country branches spend lots of $$$ to design food that can only be described as assault to good taste. Even more amazing, that cr.p is eaten by millions of people.

The obvious conclusion here must be that these millions of people do not consider such food an assault to good taste. On the contrary, they are happy to pay for such delicacies. As far as I know, that McKroket has been around for many years. It must be a commercial success, and the money spent on designing it therefore a sound investment.

Krokets are amazing. I miss them a lot living in the US. I am glad KLM has the kroket-rolls in J on flights ex-AMS; it might be the best food they serve, though the tikka masala wrap is decent too. ;)
