Quick connection

On a whim, I booked Birmingham - Amsterdam - Humberside on a through ticket. This is with a pal who wants to fly into every UK airport, so HUY is a on the list.

I've read some stories about queues at Schipol but assume KLM have booked a connection that is 'do-able' - our connection time is 1hr 10m.

Will we have to go through security again or will we be able to stay airside?

This is my first KLM flight and really looking forward to it.

PS - this section is called Flying Dutchman, is that an old name for the KLM frequent flyer scheme?

No need to go through security, so as long as your BHX-AMS is on time, you will be fine.

PS - yes, among other things

And since you're on a through ticket, you are protected and will be rebooked in case you'd miss your connection due to a late BHX-AMS arrival, there are 2 (Sat) or 3 flights AMS-HUY a day.

Was mightily impressed with KLM: crew, legroom, cleanliness of plane etc.

Checking flights from London to Inverness in August:

BA from Heathrow 288
KLM via Amsterdam: 107

Might have a new route to Scotland!
