Limoux

As most of us know, KLM has been serving Crémant de Limoux instead of Champagne in the Crown lounge for at least a decade now. I've always thought it must have been the cheapest sparkling wine they could find and it tastes like it. Plus I am more of a fan of Crémant de Bourgogne and thought this Limoux stuff was awful.

A couple days ago I found myself driving through the town of Limoux, France. And I passe a large wine warehouse, Sieur D'Arques, with a tasting room so I thought why not? I went in and tasted some wines, especially the Premičre Bulle sparkling wines and found them to be very good indeed. I realized that Crémant de Limoux doesn't have to be bad, it's just that KLM much choose the cheapest or the best deal they can get. C'mon KLM, pick up your sparkling wine game! Or maybe do a group purchase deal with AF for some decent Champagne.

Did you not know? Tried the Premier Premier Bulle? It's even better. And if you're still there, you also have Toques et Clochers. Also a very good choice!

I like Crémant d'alcase but the sparkling wine in the lounge isn't that bad.... Compared to the food it's actually quite good.

I'd rather have a better functioning web site and mobile app, and when that's done KL can focus on the lounge wine offerings.

I think that perhaps the website and the lounge drinks are managed by completely different departments. Each probably barely aware that the other exists.
