So these 3 gates are not in use? Is it just these 3, or are the other gates beyond that mini-central security area in use?

Could this be in support of the construction work in place for centralised security?

Perhaps - though unless they will be making a similar change to all gates, you'd expect that they'd only work on gates closer to the main body of the airport if this is to enable a new "pathway" to be provided for leading arriving transfer passengers to central security.

Maybe it's something as simple as installing self-scanning boarding.

Ok - just back from my trip. I asked the aviapartners staff and they said they are remodelling them to add a second baording pass scanner at each gate.

Seems kind of strange to to it in the missle of the summer peak though... and why do 2 gates at 1 time??!
