Delays/Missed Flights due to Power Outage at KLM - Weather?
I missed my connecting flight to ICN because my flight from GVA was delayed by 3 hours due to KLM's Power Outage on February 28th. Ultimately arriving in ICN 2 days later after 3 separate layovers. KLM is refusing compensation claiming it was a weather related delay.
Wondering if anyone else encountered the same, or if anyone can verify that the outage was in fact due to the weather and therefore I do not deserve compensation.

Why don't you fill in your details at https://www.euclaim.co.uk/ as they will give a preliminary opinion on whether your specific circumstances qualify for compensation or not. (You will not be the first person to claim for delays through Schiphol on that date so they will know exactly whether or not this is a covered situation).
If necessary, state that you live in the UK just to get the opinion.
I am not saying that you should use this agency to press the case for you (if, as it appears, you are a US resident they may not do so anyway) - but if, for your specific circumstances, they decide that compensation is not due, then there really is no point in pursuing a claim.

sorry....I saw that you were a Mileage Plus member and assumed you must be residing in the US
Good luck with the claim and please let us know the outcome. I have found KLM to be relatively quick with compensation payouts on the 2 times I have had to make such claims.

You're not wrong.
Former US resident and did most of my traveling via United.
Did you make the claims directly with KLM or with 3rd parties?
I find KLM extremely slow as this has been going on for over a month.

I have always made the claims direct with the airline.
You should log the claim using the relevant form, on this page of the website. Doing it any other way is likely to cause delays.
