Talking JetBlue pulls fast one on Crewmembers

The company really got us good today. I bet 99% of our crewmembers believed this was actually going to take place. I actually believed it for a few minutes. From what I heard Corporate Communications recieved thousands of angry emails. The joke went on for a good few hours before came out with the big "APRIL FOOLS" email.

Non-rev blackout dates coming
4/01 4:01am

In an effort to ease congestion at our airports, we will begin instituting limited blackout dates on non-rev and Buddy Pass travel in all markets effective May 1. For your advance planning, these blackouts are listed below. BlueRiders and Flight Speed have been adjusted to reflect these new blackouts. Please note capacity controls may apply so book early.

In an effort to be more Crewmember-friendly, we have relaxed availability on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in autumn, a particularly great time to visit many of our BlueCities. Our recommendation: a little leaf-peeping in Portland, Maine or Burlington, Vermont.

2009 Blackouts
May 1- September 7
September 10-14
September 17-21
September 24-28
October 1-5
October 8-12
October 15-19
October 22-26
October 29-December 31

Our new blackout calendar will go a long way toward reducing the time required for Airports Crewmembers to process departures at the gate and will ultimately speed turn times, freeing up aircraft so we can increase utilization and support our new mid-country hubs.

Be sure to plan your PTO and work schedules accordingly. For commuting options, see www.expedia.com. They are currently offering a 5% discount on all advance bookings.

*Please note: Dominican Republic blackout dates will be January 1-December 31 annually.

That is definitely the best part! Glad to know they have a good sense of humor

Like you said, it is nice to work for a company that has a sense of humor and can lighten up and knows how to play a good joke.
