Sabre selection is official

Expect the new reservations system to come online in 2010. It'll be great for them to have a proper system to allow for code-sharing, interlining and other useful features that they can't do right now.

JetBlue will be the launch customer for the new Sabre CSS product, so that will be interesting to see how well that works at the launch point.

More or less, depending on how they actually implement it. Supposedly the new version of Sabre that jetBlue will be the launch customer for will handle things like EML, per bag fees, etc. at the time of booking, including quoting the prices correctly at that point. Such an upgrade was actually a pretty significant thing for Sabre to implement. We'll see how well they did when B6 goes live next year.

Here is a partial quote from the email we recieved this morning.

Why Sabre? A more robust and sophisticated PSS is key to our commercial strategy. Sabre is the most–used reservation system in North America, and more than 300 airlines depend on its platform for good reason. It will allow us to offer greater revenue-producing codeshare and interline partnerships, upsell with expanded ancillary revenue and marketing opportunities, and will help us gain more insight into our customers. Improving our ability to serve our Customers...
