6 Months and counting
About 6 months ago many of you may remember I started a thread telling of my hard decision to leave JetBlue in order to answer the call of duty and serve my country. Well, it has been a long process to get to this point, ALOT of paperword and testing, but I'm just about done.
Last week I recieved a call from my recruiter. I have been accepted into the Navy's flight department. I wasn't selected to fill Maverick's shoes but have been selected to fill Goose's shoes (sorry about the Top Gun reference). I was 1 of a few selected to become a Naval Flight Officer and I couldn't be more excited. I have been chosen to do a job that 99% of the population could only dream of. Not to mention i'm off to serve and protect a country that has given me ample opportunities and I want to give something back.
It has been a tough decision. JetBlue is a one-of-a-kind company. From my fellow crewmembers to the customers I see and serve on a daily basis. While we aren't perfect this company has given me a great place to work over the last 3 1/2 years. It has been a pleasure to come from a now shut down airline to JetBlue. I have enjoyed the pleasant and not-so pleasant exchanges with everybody here as well.
I've got my marching orders in hand and will be off to Newport, RI by the end of April, so you're still stuck with me for a little while longer
. During the winter months I switch my flying to the 190 and stick to the Eastern Seaboard because I hate flying westbound in the winter and having 6 to 7hr flight times. So I might run into some of you in the future. Next month I'm in BUF, RIC, and MSY all month so if your travel plans call for any of those cities as well as BOS and JFK, I may run into you.

Wow, that's awesome. Enjoy it, because human-piloted fighter aircraft will become history within our lifetimes.
