Adding Flights for Holidays

I'm looking to get down to MCO for Presidents Week. (Crazy, I know.) Last year they added a second daily nonstop from SYR to MCO. I didn't pay attention to when they came out with the second flight, because we weren't traveling that week. Right now, there is only one flight, and it's already up to $399 each way.

Does anyone know if this is a common practice for JetBlue to add flights when there is high demand?

I wouldn't bet on it.

They may just be hoping for folks to buy the high priced seats rather than there actually being high demand on those dates. Around the holidays there are folks who are going to travel, so they likely don't see as much of a need to discount the seats. And having them sell for more money is better for the carrier.
