JFK T6 to T4 transfer
Fellow FT'ers,
I'm flying into JFK on a Jetblue red-eye from SFO and am connecting to an Emirates flight at T4 later that morning. Is it possible to walk between T6 where I arrive on Jetblue and T4 where my Emirates flight departs from?
Though the Air Train is certainly convenient, it would be nice to walk between the terminals and get some fresh air before departing on a 13 hour flight to Dubai.
Thanks for your advice.....

I've never seen a walkway between the terminals, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Also, you will get a bit of a hike between the terminals and the train stations, though not nearly as much as walking between the terminals.

Because of the construction surrounding T5 (which you'd need to pass), I'm not sure if there is a walkway between terminals. I haven't been to JFK in what seems like ages (but really only since Mar
), so someone else might be able to help more.

With construction on Terminal 5 ongoing it is not possible to walk along the terminal fronts to reach 4. The pathway that connects 6 and 4 crosses through the parking areas and takes about 5 min.
I suggest jumping the AirTrain for a nice overview of the airport, especially a nice view of T5 in its new state, if this interests you. Also a good view of this from the T6 Airtrain elevators on the 3rd floor. For an "interior view"(ops side) of T5 by jumping the annex terminal shuttle(Gates 19 and higher) which has been set up right in front new terminal 5.
You can also walk, if interested along the perimeter of T5 although the only views of the new terminal will come from the area closest to T6.

There are no real walkways between terminals at JFK, and even if you could walk between the terminals, it would involve doing so alongside near-constant vehicular traffic and the resultant fumes and noise. It's better just to take the Airtrain down one stop and stroll around Terminal 4 as you await your Emirates flight. It's definitely big enough to allow some leg-stretching and some good multi-cultural people-watching.

Thanks for all the great suggestions folks. I think the Airtrain is the way to go and ensures that I won't end up posting a "I was hit by a NY taxi at JFK" story upon my return......

There's a very easy-to-traverse set of sidewalks/crosswalks between T6 and T7.

I didn't even realized I did that. Darn spell check...
