transferring a true pass

Hi I am new to "frequent flying" and to this forum. I have a "true pass" (a voucher for a one way trip) that will expire if travel is not booked by Oct 13, 2007. I understand from the Jet Blue website and from Jet Blue customer service that this pass is transferrable. I tried to use the voucher for a trip I took but no seats were available. I will not be booking travel by Oct 13 and am wondering about my options. I would like to sell this pass. In the terms I accepted in joining this forum I said that I would not engage in illegal activity (i.e. buying or selling vouchers). Since "true passes" are transferable is it okay to sell it? Is it appropriate to sell it here? Thanks for your guidance.

Welcome to FlyerTalk (FT), dbr. I'm going to answer your question by saying "No, but..." It is my understanding from the FT Rules and Guidelines that selling anything as well soliciting and commercial links are prohibited here.

Using FlyerTalk for Commercial Purposes - link to this guideline
FlyerTalk prohibits advertising, commercial sales and solicitations through posts, private messages or emails accessed through FlyerTalk. Anyone using FlyerTalk for commercial purposes will be subject to the disciplinary process.
However, we do have a place on FT where we, as members, can trade coupons and vouchers, providing it is not for monitary funds. These trade can be done in the Coupon Connection Forum. Please read that forum's guidelines before posting or attempting to make trades.

You can certainly use a True Blue pass to fly someone else. I just flew the bf back up from TPA b/c he finished his biz trip early. However, it is against the program rules to take cash in return for doing this. Many folks here get around this my trading what the two parties believe are equivalent points/miles in different programs. The only thing is you have to be a member for a certain amount of time before you can use Coupon Connection. See the link above.

It is worth pointing out that some argue that trading is a Grey area and may still violate program rules. So you should do this at your own risk.

Thanks for the responses.
I was going to offer my one way award without trading but I can't access "coupon connection" or its guidelines, I'm assuming it's because I haven't been a member long enough and haven't posted enough.
I reckon I'll just see if I can give it away via craigslist or freecycle.

Thanks again!!

Yeah, IIRC, you need 90 posts to access the coupon connection.

But if you're just giving it away, I wouldn't be opposed to taking it off your hands

Why not book a weekend getaway? You earned the pass, might as well use it.

If my truepass has a expiration of 8/11/2008, does it mean I have to make a booking or take the actual flight before 8/11?

Thanks.

You must book by 8/11 and travel by 1/31, unless the booking window is extended by the time you book.
